We arrived at é cafe in Achrafieh on a hot saturday afternoon for a lunch invitation with Zomato. We were welcomed by the team and waiters and offered refreshments while sitting on the outdoor terrace waiting for our fellow foodies to arrive in order to be seated inside.
Upon everyone’s arrival we moved inside to our designated table. Lunch started with refreshing salads and appetizers; salade de chevre chaud, salade d’edamame, prosciutto di parma con melone and duo tartare de thon et saumon.
The goat cheese salad with mesclun, raisins, apples and walnuts served with balsamic dressing. Crisp greens with rich goat cheese and green apple along with the dressing mixed perfectly together, we really enjoyed it.
Edamame Salad; a colorful plate served with iceberg lettuce, avocado, grapefruit, orange slices and parsley garnish.
Prosciutto di parma con melone; a refreshing starter, superior quality Italian ham wrapped with melon.
Duo tartare de thon et saumon; delightfully fresh and light, tuna and salmon on a bed of guacamole.
For mains we were served the orrecchiette ai gamberi, risotto al limone con scamorza, steak frites and pavé de saumon.
The orrechiette was perfect, a must order dish. Unfortunately, the risotto wasn’t as outstanding as we had hoped.
The steak frites definitely makes our top 5 steak dishes. The steak was juicy and had so much flavor it can get away with being devoured without the sauce but we recommend you pour the sauce all over and enjoy.
For people wishing to have a nice piece of fish, the pavé de saumon is for you. A perfectly cooked salmon with grilled vegetables in a light balsamic sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds.
A sweet finish with macaron glacé, fondant au chocolat, pavlova with red fruits and mini lavender crème brulee.
Our favorite was the pavlova, crisp crust on the outside and soft on the inside complimented by the red fruits.
